Our Mission

The Junior League of Columbia, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

Community Spotlight

The Junior League of Columbia presented Shanique Kentrell Sumter with the 2009 Smart Matters Scholarship. Shanique participated in the Smart Matters program at Mill Creek Elementary School. She graduated from Lower Richland High School and plans to attend Winthrop University this fall. Shanique was a cheerleader, chorus member, and was crowned Miss Lower Richland. In addition to her school accomplishments, she volunteers in the community and with her church. Shanique exemplifies the success that Junior League of Columbia strives to promote for all students participating in Smart Matters.
