New Member Project: Palmetto Place Valentine’s Day Party

posted on

Junior League of Columbia’s new member groups have been busy with community activities! Right before Valentine’s Day, one of our new member groups hosted a Valentine’s Day themed celebration for 11 young adults at Palmetto Place. Pizza, salad, and fruit were set up buffet style in their large dining room, which was decked out in Valentine’s decor. After lunch, a professional instructor led a private art class for the group, featuring a palmetto tree painting and sparkling grape juice. The day finished off with a few rounds of Bingo, a Fortnite dance-off, and Krispy Kreme Valentine doughnuts. The afternoon was filled lots of laughter and love!

Palmetto Place provides a safe and supportive environment for children and teens who have faced abuse, abandonment, neglect and/or homelessness. They are one of the 30+ community organizations JLC partners with in the Midlands.
