On July 24, the New Member Committee, the Junior League of Columbia Board of Directors and Executive Management Team, and new members and their sponsors joined together at the New Member Social at the Palmetto Club to celebrate and welcome one of the largest incoming groups of new members entering the JLC in recent years. For the 2018-19 League year, there are 110 new members who will go through a year of introduction to the Junior League of Columbia and participate in a variety of League activities and community projects. At the social, new members met their small groups and their small group leaders, and they were informed of the ten new member projects for the upcoming year. New Member Committee Co-Chairs are Amber Gadow and Casey Pash.

 The new member group is made up of dynamic, committed women, as evidenced by new member Angela Davis, who said “my due date was the day before the social, and when I told people I was going to a Junior League social that night they were really surprised. I was kind of surprised myself, but I am so ready to jump in and get started with this amazing group of women. Being new to the Midlands area, I feel like it is really important for me to make connections and get to know other like-minded women in my community, and I am convinced Junior League of Columbia is going to be the best way for me to do that.”

At General Membership Meetings, new members will have stars on their name badges to indicate their new member status, so please make a point to say hello to them and welcome them to the League! New members and their sponsors are listed below.
