The Junior League of Columbia is a proud community partner of the Salvation Army of the Midlands and received its “Doing the Most Good” award in 2018.  The Salvation Army of the Midlands is collecting school supplies and backpacks for children in our community during Operation: School Supplies and needs our help! The beginning of a new school year should be a time of eagerness and excitement. Yet for many impoverished children, it can be embarrassing if they do not have adequate backpacks and school supplies.

The Operation: School Supplies program provides children with the supplies they need to start the school year with confidence. This program assisted 205 children in 2018. Innersole provides new sneakers for all of the children in the program! A collection bin will be located at the JLC headquarters starting June 28 through Friday, August 9, 2019.
