During Spring 2019, the Education & Development (E&D) Committee offered the Junior League of Columbia (JLC) members a four-part certificate series on Conflict Negotiation. Dr. Tamara Burk and Ms. Lauren Fleming of the Columbia College Center for Leadership and Social Change lead the series. Members who attended at least three sessions earned a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the course. In addition to a certificate of completion, those who attended all four sessions also earned an electronic badge in conflict negotiation to display on their LinkedIn profiles, social media, and resumes.

Active member Lisa Cole completed the series, stating, “Thanks so much for bringing this course to JLC members!! It was my favorite part of the 2018-2019 League year. It’s something I truly needed and wanted for professional development. Resources and training was the reason why I joined the league. I experienced a nice paradigm shift with some of the things Professor Burke touched on. It was very helpful!”
