Affinity Group visits the USO SC

Aisha Jones and Kimberly Toogood, members of our Active Duty, Veterans, and Military Spouses Affinity Group, went to the USO (United Service Organizations) SC at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport to learn more about its new programs and tour the newly renovated center and lounge.

Kimberly Toogood is not only a military spouse but also an Air Force veteran, and Aisha is a sister of a veteran and has volunteered quite a bit with the USO SC.  They met with Katie, Senior Operations and Programs Manager, and Megan, the new Center Operations Supervisor at CAE, and learned more about the one of USO’s newest programs, Coffee Connections. This program is a meetup hosted once a month by the USO SC with the goal to connect local military spouses through coffee and conversation. The first of these meetings was held earlier this year and Katie told them that it was a big success!  They were also able to learn about “Program in a Box” which are boxes/care packages that the USO SC puts together to send to active-duty service members on deployment or assignments.
