ABCs of Healthy Children recap

posted on

The ABCs of Healthy Children promotes healthy habits and provides basic necessities to children in our community. On October 26, sixty volunteers from our league supplied 573 elementary school children with the ABCs: an apple, a book, clothes (shirt/pants), and shoes/socks. Shift workers at this event were personal shoppers for the children, helping them shop for the items listed.

When asked about the event, chair of ABC’s, Maureen Grewe commented “I absolutely love hosting this event! It is such a rewarding experience and I’m thankful I get to see the immense impact we make on these children and their families. We’ve hosted this event for years and I sincerely believe this was our largest and most dynamic event yet.”

What a great volunteer shift and another amazing way the Junior League of Columbia helped impact our community! If you’re interested in working this shift in the future, the next ABCs will be on Saturday, April 4.
