Junior League of Columbia Volunteers with the 2022 Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

Junior League of Columbia volunteers got into the holiday spirit by volunteering with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program in early December. Generous angel donors across South Carolina donated new toys, clothes, and other goodies, which ended up at the State Fairgrounds to be sorted and organized. As part of the Done in a Day Committee, thousands of gifts were sorted, organized, and wrapped by Leauge volunteers. These gifts will be distributed later in December to families throughout the Midlands.

After noticing that one of the age group gift tables was running low, one of the members of the League, Elizabeth Ruff, raised an additional $1,200 from other members and friends. She was able to purchase an additional 80+ gifts for children aged 9-12, which will make Christmas morning brighter for so many Midlands families!

Emily Bedenbaugh, the League’s president-elect, was interviewed by ABC Columbia. She highlighted the excellent work the League volunteers did to prepare the gifts for the children. You can view the interview and learn more about the League’s involvement here.
