For each Done in a Day (DIAD) project, Junior League members assist local organizations or social service agencies through hands-on volunteer work. A suitable project would allow volunteers to work a three- to four-hour shift on a one time basis.
2010-2011 Done in a Day Projects
| Monday, August 2, 2010 | End of Summer/Back to School Bash at St. Lawrence Place JLC threw an End of Summer/Back to School Bash fiesta-themed party for the children of St. Lawrence Place. We served ice cream and played games. |
| Saturday, August 14, 2010 | The Therapy Place’s Graduation Party and Grand Opening Celebration JLC assisted The Therapy Place with their Graduation Party and Grand Opening Celebration. The Therapy Place provides traditional and innovative therapies and recreational opportunities to special needs children with cerebral palsy and similar motor disorders. They have recently moved into their own facility and will have 17 children completing a five-week program tailored to their specific needs. This event honored these 17 children and their amazing accomplishment. Festivities included a barbeque lunch, bouncy rides, face painting, balloon animals, live music, and games. |
