Our Early Academic Development Committee collaborates with Midlands agencies to provide events and activities around early education and development. The overall mission is to establish a sense of community and support for children and their families to increase early learning and intervention.

This past fall, the Early Academic Development committee packed and distributed 200 “ride along” bags for our community partner, Healthy Learners of the Midlands, with items that were donated by JLC members during the 100 Acts of Service initiative. Children served by Healthy Learners are shuttled to various medical and dental appointments throughout the year. These bags containing a variety of coloring items, books, snacks, and water are a small way in which we can provide comfort to these children as they attend their appointments. We are grateful for the donations from JLC members so that we can continue to put resources into the hands of the children and families in our community.
